Routine Exams & Cleanings

From routine dental cleanings and fillings to more complex procedures, Ash Family Dental is equipped to handle all of your child’s dental needs. Keeping up with regular appointments is essential to developing your child’s oral hygiene. Our goal is for every patient to receive gentle care and have a pleasant experience.

Pediatric Sedation

For children who are particularly anxious or require more extensive treatment, we offer sedation options. Dr. Moira Tucker is our pediatric anesthesiologist. She is an expert in providing stress-free sedation options for children so that they can have a comfortable and safe experience at our office, while we perform the treatments they need for a healthy smile. Your child will be asleep and carefully monitored by our team and Dr. Tucker throughout the procedure.

Stainless Steel Crowns

When a baby tooth is extensively decayed and using other filling materials isn’t likely to be successful, we recommend restoring the tooth with a stainless steel crown. After removing the decay, your dentist will fit and cement a prefabricated crown made of stainless steel over the tooth. Stainless steel crowns are less likely to need retreatment, are very durable, and offer full-coverage protection for the tooth.

Root Canals

If the pulp of the tooth is involved in a filling or stainless steel crown procedure, the dentist may also need to perform pulpal therapy before placing the filling or crown. But rest assured it is quite common, even for young permanent teeth. Pulpal therapy is needed when a tooth’s pulp is infected, impacting the nerves in the tooth. During the procedure, we remove the infected pulp, disinfect the canals to eliminate any remaining bacteria, and fill the tooth with a medicated material to protect against further damage.
